How do I correct this awful blonde hair colour?

To my regret, I coloured my hair yesterday. I was medium blonde but wanted to go lightest blonde. Unfortunately I now look like a canary with yellow/orange patches. It's very peroxide looking and not the 'natural blonde' it stated on the box. I don't now want to have to go dark but need to go darker! Has anyone had this experience? If so, what on earth do I do to correct it? It was suggested that I put ash blonde on but what result will this give me? HELP anyone :-(

If you put ash blonde on it will go an awful khaki green colour so don't. You need to find a warm blond with pinky/red tones in to couteract the brassiness.

what ever you put on it now will soak up the colour like mad, be very careful as the peroxide can cause your hair to fall out and burn you scalp if it has not all ready.

You could try an non peroxide colour in light brown to dark blond, not sure if this will work. I would pop into a hair dressers they will normally advise you.

If you put on any more chemicals it could make your hair break off. I would advise asking in a salon for advice or adding a temporary toner sachet with no peroxide in it which will even out the colour.

Sorry about that, but the suggestion for ash blonde is a good one it should neutralize the yellow you have right now. It will make it a little darker but a lot better.

There must be be some red in your natural color that's why you got the yellow color.. try to choose a cool blonde and or ash blonde. Also, you may want to try tone on tone blonde highlights from L'Oreal where you can add lighter blonde highlights exactly where you want the effect.

OK, when you dye your hair a small amount of the chemicals pass into your blood stream, so if you are pregnant it is a possibility that they could reach the baby. There is no definitive proof either way unfortunately. You are just recommended to be extra vigilant when you apply hair dye, not leave it on for too long, wear gloves and make sure it is thoroughly washed out at the end - the normal hair dyeing protocol really. It is also suggested that you avoid doing any of this in your first trimester. I'm sure plenty of women have dyed their hair right through pregnancy and had no trouble at all, but the slight risk makes me uneasy in say go for it.

If you do choose to fix this yourself I would go for an ash blonde as others have said, but the wisest thing may be to visit your local salon. Good Luck!

sweetie i would be careful of what you are doing you are only going to get a worse affect if you try to correct this at home so i suggest that you go to the salon to have this done there is no reason that you have to go dark so if that is what they say then find a salon that you are happy with and yes pregnancy can do strange things to your hair i know that lots of doctors are against having colour done while pregnant but i don't know why bu i always suggest to my client that if they are concerned firstly speak to you doctor then if all is well just have foils

well, I had that same thing happen. trying to go from dark blonde to light blonde. Unfortunately, you just gotta dye over it darker or let it grow out. About the baby, though, I wouldn't use hair dye in an enclosed space. DO it outside or go to a salon so you don't inhale those chemicals.
